A Letter from Our Director.
Sibley Memorial Hospital Volunteer Service & Patient Relations 5255 Loughboro Road NW Washington DC 20016 Dear Prospective Summer Volunteer, Thank you for your interest in becoming a Volunteer at Sibley Memorial Hospital. The Volunteer Service & Patient Relations Department has proudly served the Sibley community for over 50 years with a remarkable dedication to our patients and their families. Sibley Volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the hospital and it would be impossible for Sibley to fulfill its mission without the Volunteers. We are thrilled that you are seeking to share your time, talent and enthusiasm with our patients and staff. Our Summer Program is an intensive, 5-week commitment designed to give participants an opportunity to serve others in a healthcare setting. Individuals may choose one or more of the sessions offered (see summer availability form for specific dates). Enrollment is limited and based on hospital need. Please read the application instructions and guidelines before completing the forms. All recommendations should be returned to you in sealed envelopes so that you may include them in your application packet. You may mail your complete packet or hand-deliver it to the Sibley Volunteer Office. The entire packet must be received or postmarked by Friday, April 1 2016 for consideration. You will be contacted by email in order to schedule an interview. Please note that there is a selection process based on your interview. Once accepted into the program, you will sign up for an orientation date. All paperwork must be completed as well as proof of a negative tuberculosis screening (PPD) prior to orientation. Orientation attendance is mandatory for participation in the program. We are always delighted to have new Volunteers and I look forward to welcoming you. Sincerely, Marianne Monek Director, Volunteer Service & Patient Relations Johns Hopkins Health System | Sibley Memorial Hospital P 202.537.4486 | F 202.370.6585 [email protected]
